We survived the 12 1/2 hour flight to Taipei :) Benjamin is showing how we spent all that time. Eating and watching TV, documentaries, movies, playing games, etc. The airline served us dinner and breakfast as well as snacks and beverages. We all caught a few naps but it's quite cramped sleeping on the plane in coach. We enjoyed watching a map of the world showing where our plane was as well as where night was falling on the earth. When we reached Taipei it was almost 10pm and we could see the coast line filled with twinkling lights from buildings and cars packed on the edge of the land. We also caught a glimpse of Japan on our way in (Hi Grabskis!)
We are now in the airport for our 11 hour layover. The kids have been awesome but there have been a few complaints :) Joseph mentioned that this is just like camping which is true here now. We were all excited to experience Taipei airport but it's closed down now for night. It's about noon in Florida and it's midnight here. Needless to say our sleeping is going to be messed up. Al and I call it the "Midnight Feel" from our shift work days on MCPD. We know that feeling well :) So we all threw whatever snacks we had in our bags on the bench and we hope to get a few more naps before boarding the flight for Phnom Penh in the morning. Forgot to mention, in this picture above Grace is actually playing AnimalJam on line!
This is Anna and Grace showing how desolate Taipei International Airport is right now! Can't wait to get to Phnom Penh! One more 3 hour flight!
